The Clean Energy Legislative Package (CELP) was passed by Australian Parliament on 8 November 2011. The CELP introduces a price on carbon which took effect in Australia from 1 July 2012.

NATIONAL GREENHOUSE & ENERGY REPORTING SYSTEM (NGERS) VERIFICATION

With the introduction of the CELP, some companies will begin to accrue a financial liability from 1 July 2012. It is imperative for accurate emissions reporting systems and processes to be put in place now as these companies will be required to seek a third party review of their NGERS data to satisfy internal and external stakeholders.
