To date, Ecofund has added approximately 60,468 hectares to Queensland's protected natural areas, and is currently in the process of securing over 20,000 hectares of land for national parks. Ecofund has been able to protect this land by helping developers meet their environmental offset requirements, as well as by gathering philanthropic donations from other Queensland businesses. In doing so, Ecofund has helped to restore habitat for five threatened species.
Across Queensland, Ecofund has played an important role in developing the carbon market and reducing statewide emissions. Through business and government relationships, Ecofund has transacted approximately 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e) emissions in carbon offsets and GreenPower. On behalf of our transactional services clients, we ploughed approximately $5 million into accredited Queensland carbon and renewable energy projects. We think it's important to support Queensland-based projects, making sure that sustainable growth and development stay within our beautiful State.
Here at Ecofund, we're dedicated to helping Queensland's environmental, renewable energy and carbon offset markets grow. We love our State, and we want to help protect the enviable Queensland lifestyle for many generations to come.
